Never a disappointment!! Can't wait for the next one!

So far, I've thoroughly enjoyed all of K.M. Shea's books. My favorites were Red Rope of Fate and Rumpelstiltskin. But, The Little Selkie just might have beat out Rumpelstiltskin. (Or super close tie!!!) Each one of her books gets better than the last, and that's saying a LOT. I love all the characters in this book. They're funny and colorful. There are no cookie cutter characters or plot lines. The dialogue is witty and funny...Ms. Shea has a fantastic sense of humor, and it shines through in all her books. I love the way this author puts her spin on the fairy tales. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series. Each book in the series can be read as a stand alone, so don't fear that you'll be suckered into being forced to buy more books. There is a larger plot that threads its way through each book, but the main story is successfully and satisfactorily tied up by the end of each book. Bonus: these are clean stories. Get a copy and read this one, I promise you won't be disappointed. I used my Kindle Unlimited subscription to read this book, but I loved it so much, I'll be purchasing a copy to keep on my "shelf".

Loved it, but where was the editor?

I simply LOVED K.M.'s take on "The Little Mermaid"!
The story was a well thought-out square in the larger Fairy Tale Quilt she is creating, and, while it had a distinctively different flavor, that seemed only apropos given the secluded nature of the story's setting.
In my opinion, Everything K.M. Touches turns to GOLD, which is why I read EVERYTHING of hers that I can get my hands on! It is also why I'm bothering to write a review (as a chain-reader, I don't generally stop between books long enough to do more than rate one-- I know, I'm calling my sponsor as soon as I'm done...) since, in doing so, I make myself eligible to receive the extra chapter of "the Little Selkie"!
However, I was quite surprised at the number of editing errors, missed words, punctuation omissions and typos. Her work is generally rather punctilious. Surprising, to say the least, but not enough of a distraction to merit the loss of a star; this book was just that good.
I HIGHLY recommend it!
It's an enchanting little ride.

Love the series, this one not my favorite-

This book was fun, but it is one of my least favorites in the Timeless Fairy Tales series. I didn't really relate to the heroine Dylan, but that doesn't mean that another reader might not. I also felt that since Dylan is the only non-human heroine in the series so far (since she is a selkie), it was harder to relate to her. I would have appreciated if the book described the selkie world a little bit more so that I could have understood Dylan better. Not sure why Callan falls in love with her, so I would also have appreciated more development there. Cagney and Dooley characters were a little to comical for my taste.
