Excellent routines

You probably have noticed that when your body is loose, you play better. If any of your golf muscles is tight, chances are your swing becomes inconsistent, no matter how much concentration you put into it. So instead of buying another golf swing book, do yourself a favor and get this one. This book offers a pre-game warm-up routine, a post-game stretch routine. These two alone will help you keep those muscles loose. In addition to that you will find a number of exercises to enhance both flexibility and power.

Although I do not own any other golf fitness book, I believe some of them out there are simply re-branded regular fitness books. This one was obviously custom-written with the golfer in mind. The routines are simple and make you work on all those golf muscles, in particular those that need warmup to prevent injury (shoulders, hips). A photo and three lines of text describe each routine step, and in any doubt on how to perform a move, just watch the dvd.

Initially, I only used the warm-up routine, but now I am going back to the book and use the post-game stretching regularly. They prevent the muscles to snap back in a tighter state than they were before the game. As a result, my occasional lower back pain have reduced, and I am ready for the next game in no time.

All in all, highly recommended.

Application to Golf Too Sketchy

This is a very good fitness book. Now that I've read a couple of others on Golf Fitness, I think this one has good strengthening & stretching exercises for golfers. My chief criticism is that its applicability to different aspects of the game of golf is too sketchy for golfers who don't understand how fitness will benefit their game and their overall health and well-being. The best golf fitness book I've read is Cindy Reid's book, GET YOURSELF IN GOLF SHAPE, which I HIGHLY recommend over this one.
