Good Book for Folks with Prior Database Experience Experience

If you have experience using Access, SQL or other database software, this is the book to get you started with Crystal Reports. My impression is that those who are not satisfied with this book do not have experience with database development. As an Access user, this book is just what I need to get started.

fair - but better have som advanced tech background

definately not a basic thing.
I still find it easier to do queries in SQL, and then put in excel to prettify. SO the book wasnt that good :)

Very helpful book

I bought the first addition of this book and learned page by page and did all exersises. I am experienced MS Access user, so it was easy for me to understand the material. After learning this book I began to work with manufacturing program that uses Crystal Report as a report writer. I cannot say that I immediately was able to create a new report, but I was able to modify existing reports, so they could better accomodate my company's requirements. Now, a year later, I can create a report from scratch. I still refer to this book and found it easy to review over and over again and find related information. I highly recommend this book to anyone who willing to spend time and learn the subject, step-by-step. I want to thank you the author, Dr. Indera Murphy, for the work. Your book helped me tremendously and I am glad that I found it between other books on this subject at Amazon.
