This book and the seller are great, but it did not have the PrepU with it. I needed (9781605470283) Kyle Essentials of Pediatric Nursing, 2e for school. If you want both the book and the PrepU code use 9781469802367. They do not rent this to Ohio residents and I am not sure if the PrepU code comes with the book if you rent it. You will need to email the Amazon Rent Warehouse to find out for sure.

Leaves a lot to be desired

This was the first book I have ordered as an etext for nursing school. I hesitated getting it for Kindle and wish I had listened to my gut. I have been using it for this semester and I really hate it.

First, there is not a link to the table of contents. A lot of information resides between the cover and the start of the ToC. I had to put a book mark in for the ToC. Having a link to the ToC under the Go To option seems pretty straight forward to me and I am in disbelief that the publisher did not do this.

Second, there is no corresponding page numbers to the location. When the instructor gives a range of pages to read, I have to grab a friend's hard copy and find out to what chapter the pages correspond and what the topic covers in order to find it on the Kindle.

Third, tables and charts in the book are clickable to make it bigger. That is a fantastic tool, however the picture of the table or chart is so pixelated that it is impossible to read.

Fourth, all the hilights that I made are in a huge, long list organized by location. I have no idea in what chapter the hilight for location 14578 belongs. Would be great to sort my hilights by chapter.

So now I have spent another $70 on ordering the hardback edition just to facilitate my studying. Don't order this in Kindle format unless you are reading this for pleasure (and who does that?) as it stinks for reference.

It is HUGE. Really. And heavy. There's nothing you haven't seen already. Tons of incredible pictures in a book. And if you expect to see yourself in the crowd on one of the pics, just give it up. There's only 4 or 5 pictures of the crowd, most of them in Buenos Aires.

It's good to complete your collection, though. It's not extraordinary.

Guy O did a great job capturing Madonna during the S&S tour. The book is colorful, delightful, captures all the fun times of the S&S tour and it's a large coffee table book. I only take one star off because the binding isn't the best, otherwise it's a book worth getting. :)

After the reading the book

After the reading Mala's extremely popular previous Certification Guide for OCA Java SE 7 exam, I did not expect to see more of an improvement this time, but it seems Mala found the way how to raise the bar once again.

Mala starts her certification guide with an extensive introduction about the OCA Java SE 8 Programmer I Exam as quite often for the students arise such questions as: "Will it be on the exam?", "Do I need to know this?", "Are the questions going to be in the form of...?", "How deep I need to understand...?" and similar.
I think Mala perfectly clears these doubts right at the beginning of the book in FAQ form and general explanation, so students reading the book could fully concentrate on the exam's actual content without distracting themselves.

As an extra, for the readers who'll be willing to go for further Java certifications, can find a nice roadmap chart, which clearly illustrates a further certification road and its prerequisites.

Going further through each of the chapter, I was pleasantly surprised and liked book author's idea about the content of tiny NOTE sections. We all know that certification isn't always about good programming practices, so those NOTE sections let you be aware which coding style should be avoided in real world, and at the same time give some good advices instead.

Across the book Mala uses quite a lot nice illustrations to visualise concepts which are crucial to understand and some ideas even wraps to a small stories, so it would be easier to remember.
Having said that, content in the book is well in details explained, where each chapter at the end contains important points summary and the exam type questions followed by the answers with explanation of each (wrong and correct ones).

From time to time author does some extra steps forward and explains concepts more widely in terms of content, even though it is not going to be on exam, but it is equally useful to understand as for a Java programmer.

Finally, as befits for a good certification guide, Mala constructed and provided a whole mock exam, which is close to a real one, so you can practice and be ready when the day comes.

If you are looking for a book to prepare the exam 1Z0-808 this one is your best option. I’ve read and bought the previous books and always found something new to learn. She has improved the content, none of the pages are wasted, all of them you will found important information about the certification exam with wise hints. The book bring us a complete overview that you can expect to see into the exam, the sort of questions and even a complete Q&A section to understand the whole process.

There is a bunch of new topics in comparison the previous book like, Wrapper Classes, Ternary constructs, Java 8 Date and Time API, creating and using Lamba Expressions, Predicate Interface and more.

This book is all kind of users, the novice will learn not only all you need to pass the test, furthermore, the subworld of Java and for advanced readers will be helpful for a complete review.

Just the book one must read for the OCA Java SE 8 exam. It is very well structured, uses images that stick to your brain and it very fun to read also.
It covers all the concepts required for the exam including the new Java 8 features. If you consider taking the exam, and think wether you are able to understand the new Java 8 features, this book is the guide for you!

Absolutely beautiful

I was hesitant to purchase this book without a look inside, but it exceeded my expectations and is everything I hoped for. Such as wonderful variety of art is covered here, from Arabic calligraphy to contemporary script logos; fine art to commercial art. The quality is great, the examples are well-presented and labeled, and there is so much information to soak in. This book is great for inspiration and totally worth the price. I'm happy with this purchase.

Great printing and paper material for pages and cover, This would make for a nice coffee table book to flip through

Different than what I expected...I was expecting more in progress work from the featured artists or a really nice collection of vintage packaging featuring inspirational typography

This book is hands down the most thorough and best biography i have read. Ricky is a great storyteller and reading his story put the reader in his shoes.

A Great Player

I'm a fan of Ricky Ponting's cricketing ability..not so much his writing. Some interesting history and insights. Perhaps not enough of the insights though..and his ghost writer could have done a bit better.
At the Close of Play is OK, but not as interesting or as well written as some other bios. For cricket fans I'd recommend Michael Hussey's "Underneath the Southern Cross" and if you want a non sporting bio, then "Mao's Last Dancer" comes to mind as a fantastic read.
