About the Author
Eb Netr is my pen name. I went to the dog track for the first time in the late seventies and fell in love with greyhounds and greyhound racing. Since then, I've been to most of the tracks in the US. have published a newsletter, and worked on developing handicapping systems to help other handicappers pick more winners and make more money. While I believe that almost anyone can pick winners at the track by investing time and effort, I think most people go to the track for entertainment, not to get rich. Of course, entertainment is more fun when we can pick some winners and go away with a little more than we arrived at the track with. This is why I wrote these books. My books are an attempt to make profitable greyhound handicapping affordable for everyone. Greyhound and harness racing have brought me a lot of enjoyment over the years. My advice to anyone who likes to play the dogs or the horses is simple. Don't let it take over your life or make you neglect the people in your life. Don't spend more than you can comfortably afford to lose. Most of all, enjoy it and give something back to the dogs and horses. Maybe even adopt a retired greyhound or a standardbred if you have the room, money and love for them.

Great read... Great insight on Greyhound Racing

I found out about greyhound racing by pure coincidence, and since the first time I just loved it. But then, you realize you need to learn the basics and to understand how the dogs behave at the race track. This book has a great insight, is well written, great advice, and if you are a beginner, like me, this is a great starting point. Now, I am just waiting for Eb's next book, so I can become a real handicapper. Thanks for your book Eb.

About the Author
Stephen Nasser was 13 years old when the Nazis whisked him and his family away from their home in Hungary to Auschwitz. Stephen moved to the United States in 1958 and has had a variety of careers including restauranteur, insurance salesman, and real estate company owner. Stephen and his wife, Francoise, a retired nurse, currently reside in Las Vegas, Nevada.

An unforgettable, beautiful, heartbreaking book

My Brother's voice did not leave my hands from the moment I picked it up, until the last page was read. I can't even remember my day of flights and layovers because my mind and heart were completely engrossed.

Stephen Nasser was 13 years old when he was pulled from his comfortable and loving home in Hungary, spending endless days in a cattle car, arriving in Auschwitz only to witness the brutal murder of his infant cousin Peter at the hands of an SS officer hours after arriving. He and his brother cling to one another, drawing the strength to continue through months of inhumane treatment and brutal forced labor. Stephen's resoursefulness allows he and his brother to stay together through their move from Auschwitz to a forced labor camp, and helps him survive the unimaginably difficult conditions he faced. Finally liberated from a death train by American troops, a gravely ill Stephen begins to rebuild his life, the only surviving member of his family, in Hungary and eventually travels to Cananda and the U.S.

Mr. Nasser's unflinching and detailed description of his experiences are full of emotion, and yet are told from the straightforward and optimistic perspective of a child. It's a heartbreaking combination that paints a vivid picture of a beautiful, shining young soul in the midst of utter despair.

Now living in Las Vegas, Stephen Nasser has been tirelessly sharing his story with students and community groups for the past several years. He has given over 700 presentations and was recently awarded a Humanitarian award by the FBI. Because his education ceased before his deportation, he never graduated from High School. I was very moved to see that he was recently presented with a High School diploma from Las Vegas High school for both himself, and for his brother.

Mr. Nasser is an inspiration. He has lived through something that I, a Midwesterner in my 30's, will never be able to fully comprehend. His ability to tell his heartbreaking life story, through his book and to live audiences, must be very difficult and i admire his strength and determination. I am inspired by his optimistic spirit and his generosity to his community. This book is a must read!

An excellent account of real life experience.

My wife is just finishing the book and I look forward to starting it next week. She says it is an easy to read book, but some of the situations covered are very traumatic.

We had the opportunity to meet the author, Stephen Nasser in person while traveling to Mexico and he shared some of his experiences personally. Couldn't hardly wait to order the book as soon as we got home. I hope to meet up again with the author on a future trip after reading the book.

First hand accounts of life and survival of the holocaust are interesting, yet traumatizing to some. Highly recommend this book if you are into studying this subject.

An amazing book I couldn't put down

I just finished My Brother's Voice and I am so heartbroken over everything this young boy endured yet I'm moved beyond words that he was able to survive the horror and create a new life for himself. His parents and his brother did not survive the Holocaust. The story Mr. Nasser tells had to wait until his uncle passed away because he couldn't bear for his uncle to know how his grandchild was killed. Every Holocaust book I read astounds me more and more that this was the world of Europe. How did an alleged civilized society all rally around the little house painter from Austria and commit such horrible crimes in his name. I'm so glad 'Pista' finally told his story. I read it in one sitting as I had to know what happened to them all, what secret did he keep from his uncle, how did he make it out alive, and whether he had a full life afterwards. An excellent story, very beautifully written. I can't even bear to pick up another book just yet. Thank you for sharing your history, Pista.

The product is great

...but as a sideline, I really hate the fact that I can't simply rate the product as great without typing in a bunch of unnecessary words in this area just to give positive feedback to the vendor. It makes me (and I would imagine, many other people) much more likely to simply ignore the request to leave feedback in the first place - to the detriment of the vendor.

TO THE VENDOR: The product is exactly what I looked for and expected to receive, which to me is enough grounds for a 5-star rating. Thanks!

Practical and Useful

Working in mixed database environments is a very interesting challenge, both for DBAs and developers. If we already have experience with SQL Server, and need to work with Oracle, our SQL Server experience may be an advantage - we already have a good handle on what an RDBMS should do (backups, restores, etc.). On the other hand, our experience and common patterns with SQL Server may cause us to make mistakes on Oracle, because its internals and best practices are not the same.

I have read a book named "Oracle Database Administration for Microsoft SQL Server DBAs", and I really liked it. The book's goal is to introduce Oracle to SQL Server data professionals, to explain similarities and differences between these two very common RDBMS. This book is filled with practical, real life information, necessary to perform daily activities of a production DBA. The book can really prevent us from missteps when we try to use Oracle as if it were SQL Server. It has the following chapters:

* Oracle Internals - I was especially fascinated by the description of transaction process flow, which is different in Oracle
* Oracle Installation, which also describes a few useful Linux commands, and connectivity
* Database Definitions and Setup (databases and schemas have different meanings)
* DBA Tools
* Database Backup, Restore, and Recovery
* Database Maintenance
* Performance and Tuning
* PL/SQL (which is VERY different from T-SQL)
* High Availability Architecture

Overall, this is a must-read book for any SQL Server professional intending to improve their Oracle skills.

I bought this books three months now. I don't understand those who say there's a lack of code in the book: there are 28 F77 programs!

Tuncer Cebeci is an authority in the field of panels methods. This book is not intended for the begenners: the reader shold have a sound knowledge in the field of fluid dynamics. If you don't understand the following:

goertler equation, Falkner Skan method, boundary layer equations, momentum thickness,

DON'T buy this book.

On the contrary, if you do, you'll find lots of info in the book.

In contrast with a broad approach, this book focuses on just the discrete manufacturing industries in terms of book topics and case studies. About the Author
Scott Hamilton consults and teaches globally on SCM and ERP issues, and has consulted with several hundred discrete manufacturing businesses. He authored Maximizing Your ERP System and seven previous books about Dynamics AX. Scott has won the rarely given Microsoft MVP award for Dynamics AX, and earned a doctorate in information systems specializing in manufacturing.

Discrete Manufacturing and Dynamics AX 2012

This latest publication in a series of excellent texts highlights the specific features in AX2012 that address requirements of the discrete manufacturing industry. The book is well written and illustrated. The introduction clearly describes different scenarios found in the discrete world and summarizes the major features found in AX2012 that address those specific requirements. The summary provides an overview of the major changes in AX2012 and a chart that describes the specific areas in AX2012 that have changed or introduced new functionality as it applies to the discrete world. This overview will be instrumental to those who need to quickly focus on the new features and provide a guide to targeted learning. As a seasoned AX consultant I find this text an excellent resource that will be used to gain deeper insight into areas I'm already familiar with and those new areas of functionality found in AX2012. Segments on Lean, service management, projects and others all provide excellent overviews and insights into functionality that is available. I highly recommend this text to implementation consultants and end users who are interested in gaining deeper understanding of Microsoft's Dynamics AX 2012 in the discrete manufacturing world. I expect that I will be referring back to this text numerous times to refresh my memory and to gain additional insights.

The definitive reference for Dynamics AX 2012

Both new and experienced users of Dynamics AX 2012 will find this book to be a valuable resource for study and reference. The highly-detailed text is well-organized with a helpful combination of real-world case studies and process diagrams. General ERP and manufacturing concepts are also discussed throughout the book to visualize the application of AX functionality to specific business processes. Users who are familiar with previous AX versions will appreciate Hamilton's presentation of the new features found in AX 2012. For new users, this book is a great place to start personal training as either an end user, or as a member of an implementation team.

Another great AX reference book from Scott Hamilton

Scott continues his tradition of writing outstanding reference books for Dynamics AX with his latest release. I've read and made use of every previous book on AX/Axapta that he's written. This version with focus on Discrete Manufacturing for AX2012 provides a good balance between manufacturing theory and best practices, with the appropriate 'how to' in Dynamics AX. The case studies cross a broad spectrum of industries and businesses, covering a suitable breadth to cater for a large reader base. I've been implementing Dynamics AX since 2003 and consider his books a must-have for anyone in this business.
